well i got a 95 dx with black, sorta a Beige top interior. thinking of goin with gunmetal silver/gray with carbon fiber trim, with accent lights don't know what color for lighting either aqua or teal, why those 2 colors cause i don't want to blen it with green or blue or just any basic color around here, want something different..an does anybody know where i can get carbon fiber so i can make my own trim an what not? instead of paying someone else to make it...like the whole DIY thing rather do it myself a hundred times over to get it right an learn then have someone else to it an an i won't learn s**t an i can't say i built it myself...exterior i think i might go with the same to match the interior but not tottally sure yet just ideas just wondering if anybody else out there would think bee the same...or even if i could get carbon fiber in diff colors or make the colors my self wow the possiblities....so yea any info on carbon fiber would be great thanx

if u r gonna go CF, dont make it a colored CF, that takes away from the whole point of having CF. if i had the couple thou to drop in the roof line of my civic, id fiberglass the entire top and paint it to match the exterior. but im stupid and a ricer, so dont heave my advice

making carbon fiber trim IMHO would be way more difficult than it would be worth..

im using finishied sheets of carbon fiber to make a switch panel.. and that in itself is a pain in the balls.. making your own molded s**t not worth it.. when you can buy it made for a very low cost... take pride in a clean instalation.... making your own s**t is cool , IF you happen to specialize in it.. in other words.. if you happen to be a fiberglass guy, making your own sub enclosure is cool..

but trying to use your car to become good at a variety of things is not good imho.. you WILL make errors.. some of those errors may not be fixable... and as far as the roof lining and the rest of the beige stuff if its fabric and you really want to go the whole diy thing, you COULD remove it and recover with the fabric of your choice.. if you are serious about this.. try to come up with something clean.. diy is cool, but dont settle for things that look cheap..

if you want to be original start by selling your honda...

the word "original" and "Honda" dont exactly go together...

and in regards to the carbon fiber.. do you want raw or finished sheets

talk to your uncle if he is a COMPOSITES (not fibercrap) guy.

im not going to help you any further than this, because it is a conflict of interests.

all im going to say is... start small... practice with cheaper materials, and then try to tackle a big project like this. you WILL fail because you don't know anything about this subject.

get off CC, use google/yahoo/amazon/library.. read for 1-2 months, and then you can start asking REAL questions.

btw "finished" sheets are matrix bound epoxy or poly resin plates

sheets/cloth refers to moldable raw material.

if you have to ask that many broad questions than you arent going to have much success doing what you describe.

Well yea sure honda isn't "ORIGINAL" but that's not why i bought one hell if i had a million (i'd still buy a honda anyway) i could think of something else to do with the money, the reason i bought a honda is cause there is more room in it than a cavy or sunchicken or most cars I have driven anyway being 6'4" anyway. I wanted a hobbie car an that's what I got heh an as for my uncle he has being doin cars for a lot of years an the lot of them are for car shows, an does excellent work, he is more a body man an i am more of a mechanic/electrical person myself though have help with body/painting cars for a few years now, I am basically looking for something to do in my spare time an WANT to learn how to work with carbon fiber an yea if no body is looking to lend a hand my way well then guess your just not a nice person or helpfull for that matter..
