Here is my first time ever fiberglassing. The speakers will soon be coming for it next week. When I get back from the car show at the end of the month I will be making a face plate sort of thing to go around all my subs to give it a better flow look and to add more color to the trunk.

got enough bass?? lol not a big explode fan. not a bad start
Thats probably not loud at all...

i suggest you read up on how soundwaves travel before you do anymore stereo work/installation.

The soundwaves generated by the cheap sony's are more then likely cancelled out by the sound waves generated by the even cheaper west coast custom subs... all in all, just making a jumbled mess of sound with hardly any of it reaching the cabin of the car, and just making your trunk rattle to s**t.

its not so much what he has, as it is how its all installed... soundwaves are going to cancel out... that has NOTHING to do with how clean/unclean/cheap/exspensive his install is. That has to do with how its going to sound.

The fiberglass work looks clean from that picture, but i dont see much of the point behind it on the trunk deck.

your totally right but at the bottom of everything i wrote i quote "but also the info they put is true"

i don't think that he gave a s**t of what he fiber glass even though it look pretty cool. i think he just

wanted to know if he could do this type of work and choose his trunk lid for his project and was

prob. excided to know the results instead of performance hey mcivice199_6x tell this people something

i seem to be the only one sticking up for you and i don't even know you lol:lol:

First of all the silver subs are Lanzars not West Coast Customs crap. Second its very loud inside of my car and the sound waves do not cancel out. I have hit 140 db at every show I go to and at the local audio shop. I soon will be replacing the sony with two more Lanzars. When I built the boxes for the subs I wasn't even thinking about fiberglass. One day I just decided to try it and turned out good. I could care less about what you think about the Sonys because I like them and thats what matters. It may look nicer if all the equipment is the same brand but not all companies make products to power their own stuff. You do not have to spend a million dollars to have a great loud sounding system. Mine is very clear the way its setup, but anyway thanks for standing up for me hiddenramza.

let me say this...

what you're doing with 4 subs, im beating with 2, and is that measurment on the old system, or the new system?

I've hit 148.8 DB in my car with 2 Diamond CM3's. Its all in the box, and how you tune your amp. And that was 148.8 on the "new" system, which would of been closer to 151-152 on the old from what ive read/heard.

Quality > Quantity.

Well I will say that I am only pushing 800rms to all the subs when I am really supposed to be pushing 1400rms total. That is one reason they aren't as loud as they should be. When I get all the money built up i will be buying two more lanzars to replace the sonys and buy two amps that match the subs perfectly (400 rms and 800 max)Those are 12 that you have right? How do you get 148 db with subs that are only 500 watts rms each. My friend has 2 Soundstream 15's that are 1000 watts rms a piece in an eclipse and he is only hitting 145.5. Oh and its all on the new system. The mic being placed on the passenger side of the windshield. Sub only.

My subs are only getting approx. 300 watts each.

My amp is a Directed D1200.1 Mono-block wired parallel, my box was built/tuned SPECIFICALLY for my subs, and for spl. My airspace is EXACT, and i spent probably 4-5 hours tuning my amp, and tuning low/mid/high frequencies in my deck.

1000watts on a sony amp, is not 1000watts on a higher end amp, hook up a current reader capable of reading wattage to the output on your sony, and tell me what it really reads, i gaurentee you it wont be 1000 watts.

Not bagging on you, simply providing facts.

Side note: My diamonds are RATED at 400 constant, and will handle 800 constant, its been proven in my cousins jeep.

What are you saying is a 1000 watts? The amp. The sony is only pushing about 250-300 rms and the MTX is on pushing 450-500rms all at 2 ohms bridged both amps. Ok the Sony subs are 300 rms and the Lanzars are 400rms. The sonys are only recieving about 125-150 rms each since the amp is bridged it splits up the wattage. The Lanzars are only getting 225-250 rms since the amp is bridged it splits up the wattage.

Your only pushing 300 rms to each. My friend who has 2 kicker 12" l7 is only hitting 141db. His box has been built by professional to be EXACTLY the correct enough airspace and his amp has been tuned by them as well. He is pushing 750 watts of rms to each sub.

Im not trying to cause a war with you but I am telling you only the facts. I have told you all my amp ratings as well as the subs just do the math and when i get my new system parts i will tell you what my new rms is and db numbers. i wil even try have someone take a pic of the reading.

you missed what im saying...

sony provides FALSE info, there... lets say, 500w amp, doesnt really put out 500watts, it puts out less.

Yeah I know. when they test for power they record the highest point where the amp spikes at. I was just estimating the wattage if it were true power. I wish it were true power but that is how companies get there money. I know there is no way that sony has so high of peaks but I still like them. There not the best in the world but they are decent to me. I just can't wait to get my other subs and amps to get closer to the power I need. I know they wont put out what they say either but it will be closer than what i have now.
