Gotcha!

Some people wanted to see an update so here ya go. Rolled her out of the garage last nite. I just put the front end back on to finish up the wiring. I needed to mount the sylinoid and electronic ignition box up on the inner fenders. I'll make a vid once I can start her again and let you hear this beast. 8) After seeing these, I'm thinkin I need to lower her ass down another couple inches, I dunno yet.

Ah, and Rey asked me yesterday and I figured the rest of you guys might think of this. He asked how much the car wieghed, that's always a question with a tuner guy. But, I actually have a good comeback to that with this car. The factory weight was only about 2,900lbs. I think the v8 I've put in it actually weighs less than the old flathead that used to be in there also so I've dropped more weight there and I've stipped all kinds of useless metal, at least another 100lbs. So don't tell me this is just a huge tank. 8)

yeah, you hit it rite on the nose.
Actually it's lowered a lil over 8 inches up front and 4 in the rear rite now. That was the first thing i did. The original pix will show you how the front was up in the nosebleed section, stock height was really high for these cars.

So far, all over. I've gotten stuff from the internet, there are just as many hotrod forums as tuner forums. There are huge hotrod shows in my city, I've gotten some stuff from there. A big swap meet that was here in August. Salvage yards.... catalog ordering. Pretty much the same route you'd take for honda parts, you just have to be a lil more knowledgable about what you need. When you start saying it's for a civic, the place you're talking to is generallly for tuner cars, which basically covers about 10 years worth of cars. A hotrod shop covers what, around 50-60 years worth of cars, so you've gotta know what you need.

And Zoe sit this one out guys. She was inside napping. ;)

It also helps to have a uncle and your dad that have been in the hotrod game for a long ass time! =) Can't wait to see this beast done...and don't forget I owe ya some wrench time! Karen's going to be gone for four days from the 20th to the 23rd this month...so I'll be free.

And by the way boys...Zoe's lookin good!

ONly reason I ask is I live right by summit racing and get announcements of specials and such, so I could keep an eye for somethin if you want. just tell me the exact model and I'll keep my eyes peeled

Thanks bro. Cool, remind me when it gets close to the 20th, I'll probably hit you up.

Actually my uncle is just as new to the game as I am. We both grew up with it but, as far as building our own we're both new. But, if you count all the years either one of us has spent helping our dads on these things, it's ridiculous.
My uncles dad, which would be my grandpa (wow imagine that) has 12 hotrod projects at last count. ;)
I wouldn't be able to guess how many hotrods passed through my dads garage growing up.
