Hey guys, I have a 1997 honda civic dx...

Went to my parents house on thanksgiving and I was on the highway at 65mph, next thing u know the needle jumps from 65mph to 0mph and back to 65mph.

I happened 2 times within the 1 hr drive. Came back home and went to walmart and for like 1 min the speedo, odometer and trip odometer stopped. the Temp and Gas gauge works fine... now it happens like every 5-10 mins of driving.

I have no idea whats wrong!!!

someone said its the alternator, could be the battery or the fuse...

also heard that 1997 civic's dont have speedometer cable and its all electric...

This car has no swap, no mods, just a honda lover.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks for taking your time to look at my forum!

if its my VSS, wouldn't the odometer work tho? I thought VSS controls transmission shifting and speedometer, not the odometer.

Could also be your cluster, or something in the wiring is throwing the sensor off or one of the sensors is bad.
