Mysterious black button....

Okay, I have a 2000 Civic LX and under the steering column, next to the fuse panel, there is a small black button with no label, WHAT IS IT? I wanna know so I can press it because it looks interesting, but I don't want to press it and end up in 1956.

I doubt they would be left unlabeled and if it were either one of those it would be common knowledge. It might have something to do with the fuse box itself, like how plugs have the reset switch?

Just press it already. Could be from a previous owner for an alarm system or something along those lines.

that is what I am thinking..

which would put it into a category of something I would NOT just push.. imagine if the previous owner installed some kind of fuel pump kill and did it incorrectly.. and pushing it burnt something out.. LOL that would really blow..

my car has one which is the valet switch which was added as part of my alarm system

could be a switch for an amp that was previously installed ...... to turn it on/off or it could be that they had a screen in the dash to switch it... press it find out lol

OP probably pressed it and DID end up in 1956. The button is still a mystery I guess.

most likely if you have an alarm it is a vip switch to shut off the alarm without the remote
