Need Advice...

I recently got in a minor accident and I'll be repainting one of my fenders. I decided that this would be a good time to upgrade my body but I can't come to a decision. Here are my choices...

1. Drop $600 into a body kit ( I was looking at the Street Fighter ) -I'll have to live on top ramen for a while...

2. Type R front lip ( I know it looks good on the 99-00 front ends but I am not too sure about the 96-98's)

3. I've heard of 99-00 frond end conversions for 96-98's, but I have no idea how easy that is or how expensive.

I was also wondering if I put just the front piece from a body kit on if it would look disproportionate, and if I put a lip on should I also put a rear lip on. Any other ideas are appreciated. Thanx.

just get a lip kit and do a 99-00 conversion i dont really know to much about them cause i have a 00 but thats what i would do if i had a 96-98 heck i wish i would have bought a lip kit now not my ricey body kit

Lip kit's a lot cheaper but, you've got the flash with a good body kit. Don't forget though that you gotta have someone prep and paint that body kit. That can get expensive you never know what kind of condition those things are gonna be in when you get them. There's a huge difference in looks between the two so you need to decide for yourself which one you'd rather be stuck with. Once you've got it you won't wanna spend money on changing it.

Thanks for the advice guys I have looked up a little on the 99-00 conversion and I was wondering if I would have to swap the fenders out as well as the bumper. I know if I want the 99-00 headlight assemblies I do, but what if I keep my 98 headlights?

Do a search, the 96-98 headlights wont fit. You'll need the hood, fenders, grill, bumper, headlights, and radiator support from a 99-00.

id stay 96-98. ive heard LOTS of people say they'd rather have those than the 99-00.
as far as how the lip's look on the 96-98. well, freakin awesome.
but then again im only talking hatche's here, but theres not realy a difference.

I personally like body kits....they look a lot better IMO as long as you keep it clean. Lip kits are nice too though...so really its all in what you really want. Put some time into thinking about it, maybe ask somebody to do some chops for you. If you get a body kit, make sure that you get one that does not need adjustment and fits perfectly. Also, i've heard many bad things about fiberglass (shatters easily)...so if you plan on goin for that, be careful with it..if not go poly urethane. overall.. the body kit will be a lot more work....but I think it looks a lot better.

EDIT: and....top ramen is the s**t...so no worries there

Get an R34/Octane bodykit...those lo0k nice and they als0 arent s0 flashy...just clear out those headlights, DIY paint them chrome black, and get the bodykit...or get a BuddyClub 2 body kit from Henshin Auto Design...
