I am wanting to change everything around on my car. I figured it up and by the end of august I should have about 2000-2500 to spend changing some things around on my car.

A few things I am looking to change are:

1. I wanna lower the car but not slam it. I would just like a nice sport drop that will still have a good ride to it because I cant have it bouncing around everywhere when I have a 4 month old.
2. I am going to keep my same rims I have for now..but am going to change over the tires to some low pro's
3. finish out the moulding issue and put on a front lip.
4. I would really like to have the car professionally painted to do a black on black thing if I can get it done in my price range without getting a cheap job.
5. I would liket to look into a good exhaust that has some tone but isnt like a pissed off weedeater or something.

I am wanting to get some opinions from all of you on what products everyone has tried or likes that could fit into some of what I am wanting to do. I see so many different types of things people do with their cars but I really dont know what products are the best. Mainly in the shock area.. I read a lot of function and form coilovers but will that put too much of a drop or ruff ride into what I wanna do. I thought about just doing a simple shock and lowering springs combo, like skunk2 sport shocks with the skunk2 springs? Any info or opinions??

I would like to go from this:

1 a good ride is the function and form coilovers, they are around (no more than) $600, fully adjustable so you can have a .5 inch drop ( i believe is the highest) to a 3inch drop all depends on how low you want it

2 front lips are great, i got a polyurethane on from ebay for $70 and its great, threw some double sided tape on the the bumper and a few screws into the wheel well and its great, i used bad tape and screws at first so it fell off quickly but there was very minimal damage (i have a spoon style front lip which i think is the best looking

good luck with that paint job, just what ever you do dont go maaco, at least around here they are total s**t

a great exhaust is the Aepxi WS2, looks alsmot stock and isnt a huge fart can, i plan to purchase one soon since i love my Apexi N1 but the can is too big and the sound is too loud, has a deep down and not a weedwacker at all but the ws2 is great, low revs is quiet and if you get on it is gets louder but not going to get annoying, ive riden in some teggys and civics with them and i love it

with those rims it doesnt look like you have much room to lower without having to roll your fenders.... my opinion is to see how it looks with a lip kit on it cuz it does give it a lower appearance and you can still keep your smooth ride instead of lowering.... read internet DIY on automotive paint and paint it yourself for cheap....and blow the rest of your money on more SPEED!!!!!!!!!

Oh if your not into speed and u want decent sound from your exhaust and dont care about performance just get a magnaflow canister or inline muffler put on by a local shop for cheap and you will have a decent non weedeater tone

If you don't want a serious drop, look into a Koni/Ground Control setup. It may be more money but I think the quality is better. Besides that, I dig the red dude. Black isn't all that nice once it starts getting dusty and faded.

ya I will look into the function and form coilover kit. Mainly cuz I can always adjust it to fit where I want it to be. As far paint. I like the red if it were done like it needs to be, its just something always pulls me to black on black. I dont know why! I just have always loved that stealth sleeper look.

I dont think I am going to do a lot of motor work on my car right now. I am just kinda waiting it out till this motor quits and then do a motor swap. I had a 93 del sol before this car that had a b16 in it and I think I want to go that setup with this civic as well. I dont think I will ever really get much out of the non v-tech d15

To deadswitch
I can get lower with these rims if they had the right tires. The tires on it now i think are 205x55x16 which might as well be monster truck tires!! the car used to be slammed with these rims and low pro's but it had some crap ebay springs on it and rode like a dog terd!

Function form coils will be the best, or a second option is some tien S techs for a stock feel with a slight drop.

As for paint.... I would say maybe respray it red if the paint is bad, changing the color of a car is where it gets expensive, as you have to pull engine and pull at least some interior to make it look good and professional. A black car with a red engine bay just looks stupid.

As for exhaust, I would suggest apexi WS2 OR Megan OE Exhaust [M-OE], it looks almost stock, but has a nice tone similar to WS2, and it also has a removable silencer that lets you make it a lil louder if you'd like. M-OE with custom piping will be a cheap great sounding setup...

With law enforcment becoming ever more strickt with modifying your vehicle with performance parts, the need for more discreet performance parts have increased to keep a low profile.

The M-OE is designed with a more conservative Oval design rather than the common Canister style universal mufflers. These are more discreet to law enforcment and although the feature the same perforated-core design as the Canister mufflers that we sell, they offer a deeper more mellow tone due to the increased amount of packing that is contained within the muffler casing.

Ya thats mainly what I have been worried about that the cost to re-paint it will eat up probably more than what I am looking to spend on doing all this stuff. I am only going to change the color if I can find a good paint guy that will do it all for a reasonable amount and do a good job. I will never put a crap maaco job on any car I ever own.
