i have tanabe racing medalion... i have a extra one. for $160 shipped... i got it from optauto.com ...its 3.5" inlet and 5" outlet...u need to get a pipe from jegs.com and do a lil mod to it..my friend have one on his civic...its pretty loud

one of my friends has a vx, he ran straight 2.5 in. pipe and one of those racing medallion style mufflers and it still didn't have much sound, until we put my factory si exhaust manifold on it, it made a big difference.

cheapest you are gonna get exhaust is to go to a muffler shop....if you want loud then straight pipe that b***h with no resonator and possibly no muffler. ive got a header, stock cat and 2.25" with a resonator to a 2.25" flowmaster 40 series 2 chamber. It is without a doubt loud, but cruising is fine (i drive over 100 miles a day so that was very important to me). some of my past cars i have run either straight pipes or no resonators and eventually the interior resonance got to me and i had to change. but basically you want you car loud; no cat, no resonator, and no muffler. if you want your car streetably pleasant make sure you get a resonator and a muffler, your car may sound a little ricier but you wont miss the headaches.

I would suggest just getting a canister like a Apexi cannister by its self and have it piped at a muffler shop. Thats way cheaper then buying a full catback system. 2.25 all the way back from the cat to the exhaust only thing is its loud as hell. I drove around with it for a day with no resonator and I didnt like it. So now I'm running a DC header to a stock cat, 2.25 pipe to a 15inch long resonator to the 5 zigen. Not to loud at cruising but when you open her up she gets mean.

I went to a local shop and got some generic N1 style exhaust and got 2 1/4 piping from the header back all custom bent and it doesnt sound like a fart can or rice. It sounds really meaty like its pissed off. I kno its not name brand and everything but hey it does the job.
