Need help installing LED interior glow lights

This is my first time attempting to do this but I want to install LED strips under the seats of my 04 Civic. I am having difficulty understanding the wiring part. I have researched online on how to do this and I found that I would need to have the LED control box connect to the fusebox in my car.

I still dont understand what I would have to do for this to work, I havent bought the kit and I havent seen a proper video where someone explains the wiring in detail. But from what I gather, I would have to remove a fuse and plug the wire in there?

I am assuming that the three colums of fuses are free fuses available for use so I would have to remove one of those and plug my LED's in there. Am I correct?

Would it be easier to use the fusebox underneath the steering wheel insteading of using the main one?

I really have no knowledge on this topic but its something I am interested in doing. I would really appreciate it if someone could guide me in the right direction.

Thank you

They make an "add-a-fuse", can buy it at local part stores in the electrical section.

It would be a lot easier to use the fuse box under your dash. There is a ground there too for your system. Pick a fuse that has constant 12v power. Meaning something that is always on when your car is on.

Remember though, this mean YOU MUST NOT FORGET TO TURN THEM OFF.

Once you have the fuse selected, pull it out, putt your positive wire in, and put the fuse back in. Ground the system, and you should be ready to glow!!

I do these often, and am about to do my own as soon as I have time. Let me know if you had any other questions?

Hope I helped!!

Free fuses? Nope, those are being used. The cover shows what fuse protects what. You can tap into them but I would just find a keyed wire somewhere and tap into that.

led control box..hmm....why? When do you want the leds to come on? all the time, on ignition, when the door opens. I'm guessing your going to buy a kit that has a control box with it, if so I would recommend doing a little more research and just integrate the lights into your car somehow. I have had a control box led kit in my car before and its really lame. by tapping into the right wiring in your car you can have a much more functional and cooler setup with basically the same amount of work.

if you had a 6th gen i could help you out with all the wiring, but I'm not sure of the differences.

My son wanted something similar for his 97 civic. We ended up buying neon license plate frames, wiring them into the interior light system so that they come on when doors open. They create a nice glow & he doesnt have to remember to turn them off. Plus no fuse box concerns.
not sure if this is what you are looking for, just thought I would toss it out there.
