I just bought my brand new greddy 19-t turbo kit. I got a really good price on it only $1,100. I have a greddy intercooler turbo timer and turbo gauges but all I need now is a BOV. I am kind of low on money right now and I was wondering if anybody knows any good sites for inexpensive BOV's not cheap but inexpensive. I wanted to go with the HKS but I can't really afford that right now. Does anybody have any suggestions. Would it be stupid to just get the turbo installed and wait on the BOV??? Throw out some opinions...

they all do the same thing, a $20 used 1g dsm bov does the same thing as a $300 hks.

you're going be at stock boost, so bov isn't really neccessary untill you increase your boost. but i would go with greddy type s for 165 at city-speed, and don't forget to buy a flange and have it welded. turbo isn't cheap so you better have so backup money in case something goes wrong. so you planning on installing it yourself?

i did a search on ebay and all the 1 g dsm's bov are like made for eclipses or talons or something like that does anybody have any idea what they sound like or if they will fit my greddy kit? and what does it mean when they say uncrushed or crushed?

go to a junkyard, buy the intake pipe with the bov and flange on it, or make a model of the bov flange and have a machine shop make a flange. if your only running under 12 psi, you can use a 2g dsm bov, and you can get those on a trade for a big mac.

the 2g is plastic, its not a great piece, but its cheap as hell. i dont know about volume. the 1g is quite loud. and the 1g can be "crushed" a few mm to increase the spring pressure and let it hold more boost. 1g is 1st gen, 89-94, 2g is 95-99.

you can get dsm bovs for 20 bucks.. there is no reason not to run one and damage your turbo.

running a GReddy 19T @ stock boost isn't gonna hurt anything at all. That 6-8 psi isn't building enough pressure to damage the turbo. I'd save and get the BOV you really want.....no sense in building with something other than whats preferred......or else you'll end up buying one for now and upgrading later

I dont know anything about that BOV, sorry man. The BOV just releases built up pressure in the charge pipes......too much built up pressure (like compression) will blow something.....and nobody wants blow motors or turbos. Also, the loudness of the BOV depends on how much boost you're running. My friend with a 95 SOHC-T and intercooled, was running at 4-5 psi during the day, and you couldn't hear a thing except the turbo spoolin'......but at night he turns it up to 9 psi and his GReddy type-S BOV screams!

the stock 1g dsm is good for up to 12psi when they are uncrushed(stock)
thats 12 and LESS
greedy kits usually dont boost more than 6psi
trust me ull be fine
