hi all

well, i finally decided to install a system in my car...

i'm having trouble getting the amp to turn on..

i've got the power to the battery, the remote and rca's ran and connected, and the ground too...

when i turn the ignition on, the amp light cuts on, then right back back off in a second...no amp...

i checked the ground and when i move it on metal, it sparks, meaning a current of power is made...

should i do a better ground?

any help?

thanks!

double check the connection on your remote wire

that sounds like a remote wire problem, check it with a multi meter

:werd: sounds like the remote wire is shorting out, make sure it didnt get pinched or anything during installation

I saw the same thing happen in my boy's eclpise, we found it had gotten pinched under the door sill AFTER we had redone all the other wires and still had a problem, lol

sound like you've got a short in the amp, if its not the remote wire, you need to use a volt meter to test all the connections for the right voltages and if thats not it, test whats going to the speaker, could also be a loss fuse in the amp, what all are you installing?

EDIT: got it working

my ground wasnt good enough. it was good enough to flow a current but not turn the amp on all the way.

found a new ground, everything sounds good,

i'll make a new post soon shoing off my new "trunk"

thanks all!
