Hello, I have recently bought my first civic this past week, couldnt pass it up for $2000, it is a 97 ex with a B18A1 Block, Ported GSR head, DC Sports Headers and Exhaust, Lowered on Coilovers(unknown brand).. Must be a Stage 2 Clutch, she wants to chirp the wheels every time i pull off in first gear. I know it has a 13:1 compression ratio. I dont know a lot about the car besides the engine only has 3,000 to 5,000 miles on it, it has the stock P2P ECU and idles around 1400, sometimes higher around 2000. Im new with this motor swap stuff and need some help figuring out how to get the motor to calm down and not over heat when i have it driving in city traffic. I dont know too much about what is going on with the car but everything looks brand new under the hood, same with the headers and the exhaust on it too. Too sweet of a car to pass up for $2000 but i dont know alot about it and could use some help trying to get it to calm down and i also need help getting a proper gauge cluster (running a acura integra w/white gauges cluster) but the temp dont work on it and the gauges freak out when i turn the headlights on. gotta start somewhere!

Um try getting a P28 ECU and having it chipped with a basemap to fit your needs, or you could get it tuned.

get the right ecu and you wouldnt have so many issues. a stock d series ecu will not run an lsvtec correctly....

Alright, thanks.. if i find a P28 ecu from the junkyard, do i have to get it chipped specifically for the engine? or can i buy an already chipped ecu off craigslist? what would you guys suggest?
