I have a B20Z2 vtec in a 89 crx and need to know if anybody has done a turbo kit on a B20Z2 block?:?: It has stock internals, and B16 heads with a valve train. I need to know if it's possible because of the compression rating of the B20Z let me know.

Yes it is possible, in fact it will make a good bit more power than a low compression setup and it will have better low end power and torque but it will be harder to run on pump gas, and once you hit a certain point it will be impossible to run on pump gas.

What is the compression of your motor right now?

Edit: Nevermind, I see that it has stock internals. I for one wouldn't even build a b20/vtec with stock bottom end, much less put boost to it. I would recommend new rods and pistons at the least.

stock b20 sleeves do not like much boost at all. when you built this motor i hope you atleast used arp rod bolts or else you will more than likely have problems before you even boost it.

if you really want boost, i would swap out the b20 block for a ls block...its a little more turbo friendly, just to be safe rather than sorry. still, even with the ls bottom end i would put pistons/rods in it, then you'll be good for your goals if tuned well. OR sleeve the b20 and get pistons/rods

btw, your b20z is not "high compression" like you said.

wait, your block is high compression, and is stock? how is that possible?

well anyways, i recommend what everyone else has commented. sleeve, pistons, rods, also i would recommend bigger injectors and port n polished head and upgrade to turbo cams. then you will see the light..
