Need help with my civic

Ok so i have a 98 honda civic lx 5spd with a d16y7 in it right now. Only thing ive done to it so far is put an aftermarket exhaust 4-2-1 with (2.25 piping) and just a cold air intake...I know not much at all, but thats why im here asking.

Ive seen these type of cars get at least 200whp, I just havent had the pleasure of asking how the hell someone got that kind of power in such a little car.

Ive heard of mini me swaps, and know someone who will sell a y8 head to me for dirt cheap. but want to make sure it would be a good decision. Also read a little bit about the obd1 conversion, but again not that much knowledge on it. Im going to be redoing the suspension as well, and the brakes soon enough, but im not gonna worry about it till i can get it to the specs that I need.

Basically I wanna do as much as I can to it while I still have it even though the gf is a hater =)

I dont really care what it takes, to rip apart the engine, I have a place I can do it, and I can def put my time towards it as well. Just need to know some good items to buy but at a good price (yep on that budget plan, haha) Anyways drop some knowledge on me, and I will be happy to try anything.

But anyone know how to get rid of the O2 sensor CEL? I put a non fouler in there that the sensor could screw directly on there, but im getting intermittent CEL from it...any suggestions?

200whp is not going to happen with out a turbo or a huge shot of NoS. The y7 makes like 107fwhp so at the wheels it's in the 90's. A y8 head swap and manifold would get you to a little over 100 to the wheels. 200 is a long way from that. Most people have to run around 12 pounds of boost (turbo size depending) to get to 200whp.

Good to know...So I am thinking about putting the y8 head onto mine and am wondering if the wiring to the ECU is the same, or would I have to go get a different connection? If so, what one? I know the VTEC has to get wired in but I need specifics cause I dont wanna mess anything up in the process.

Swapping tro a y8 head? You can re-use the current harness. Just add vtec as you have mentioned and you will be good. I believe there is a wiring change at the IACV, too. Just look for a DIY guide for the mini me and that should have everything you need information-wise

Make sure you change the intake manifold also, the y7's down draft will cost you a few Whp.
