I had another thread asking about if I shld go with a K series or gsr boost. I'm mainly looking for a reliable daily driver but also something that'll show up to the track. I'm not looking for something lk a 10 second car (I gave up that dream with having a daily driver lol) but I'm looking mid to low 12s or even mid to high 11s.

Need help with wat type of set up to use. How to maintain a boosted car so it wont break down on me.
Thanks.

Depends on your budget

But all bolt on k series is much more reliable than dailying a turbo car imo

Agreed with the above, turbo gsr's can be very powerful but an all motor K series is a much better option if you can afford it, or even a low boost K. Of course it also depends on what car u put it in, a gutted hatch will do better then a full interior coupe and etc. Also hitting 11's and even low 12's on a DD is not something that you will be able to achieve easily. I seriously recommend googling something like "12 second k20" or whichever motor you choose and clicking on every link that pops up so you can see other peoples set ups. Good luck man.

Yeah I kinda figured that. Especially since I'm gonna be keepn all my interior in cus it's gonna be my dd.. K's are expensive to get but so far everybody has been telling me to wit em. It's gonna be in a 98 coupe so that'll slow it down for sure.

Not all k's are priced equally, the 02-05 K sereies and the base RSX k's go cheaper and so do the k24's.
You could go with the latter option and boost a bottom of the line K. But with that budget it wont be easy, all depends on how much you can do yourself fab wise and install wise. Also finding used parts may be a good alternative ass well, but do keep in mind when you build all this your guna need a good tune and engine management and that wont be cheap. So that would be the first part of your budget money I'd set aside. Just my .02!

Damn.. This makes me wanna lean more bck to B series. I really wanna go K but it's really expensive. I figure wit 7k I cld get a boosted hatch .. Running low psi to make a daily driver. This is confusing cus honestly I cld go either way, K20 wld last me longer bcus of it being a newer motor but it's gonna cost me. Not to mention it's hard to find a hatch wit a k20 near me in Louisiana. There's a couple in Miami but I'm not going that far.
Btw: how much wld it cost for a good tune?

depends on the place and your area what the tune cost. and how good the tuenr is
You mean the tune itself right and not the engine managment software.

Tune can vary, all depends on the tuner, how much time, how many dynow runs etc. Id say a tune could easily hit 500+?

My advice if your worried about good power but not the k series, try going H22. Theyre not pricey because they're not one of the most popular swaps out there. Id suggest looking into an H22.

Thanks guys. Yeah Ive also been trying to look for a h22 hatch but not too many out there for sale right now that I kno of.
But yeah I just meant the tune not the software. Man there's alot to having turbo..
