Need some visual ideas for filling open hole in audio console.

I am installing the optional audio console in my '93 LX. I did some searching for pics from people that have done this and didn't come up with much that is still up. There is a big thread about this on Honda-tech, but the thread was started 6 years ago and 95% of the pics no longer show up or the links are dead. There is a couple threads on here that link the thread on Honda-tech or link dead threads.

I am going to move my head unit down to the audio console but am going to have a hole where the radio was. I have some ideas on what I might do, but am looking for visual aids from you guys that have done it and solved the problem. Ideas on what you did to cover the open din hole in the audio console is fine too as it can be transferred to the top as well.

alot of ppl buy a flip up dvd player or w.e... could custom some gages in there. get a box to put in there to hold some crap till you find somthing to put in there.

Theyre is an actual jdm option for this i believe
its called a jdm glove box and it looks like it fits right above hte little tray thing that comes wit hit and it was like a flip up cover

if you still have the stock radio, and are going to install an aftermarket radio, you can always just leave the stock radio in, disconnected. This way, you can just take off your aftermarket radio faceplate, and just hope thieves don't take a second look down there. ^^

No stock radio. It had no radio in it when I picked it up from my buddy.

I ended up picking up a "single din glove box" out of a 99 accord.

What I am going to end up doing is relocate the ac controls down to the audio console, keep the pocket that came with the audio console in there as well, move my head unit back up to the top (it is slightly hitting the dash and also hits the shifter if I have it in anything other than 2, 4th, or reverse), and put the single din glove box in the spot where the ac controls were.

So something like this:

[Old ac control spot = single din glove box]
[Head unit back in the stereo spot]

[ac controls]
[tray]
[ash tray] {lighter}
