Need Stronger sound

Right now I only have 2 front stock speaker and a kenwood head unit for the audio setup. My question is: What exaclt should I do to increase audio levels, clarity and bass? Will larger speakers do the trick?

And if I add the 4 extra speakers at the back of my civic hatchback, what will be my audio gains? Thanks.

increasing spl, clarity and bass always means adding an amp

adding a set of rears will help

but head units just don't give the power to have clear output at a higher level

All this talk about bass makes me want to go fishing. Like cujo said amp+ better speakers will make a huge difference.

With my hatch I only have 2 front 6.5" speakers too. I decided to add a small amp under the passenger seat and a sub in the back. I am still awaiting on my deck but once it's installed it should be decent. Sub gives huge spl but you don't want to drain all the mids and highs out with a sub.

get a nice 4 channel amp...new front speakers...one woofer...you can do all this for less than 300 bucks...and have a nice set up...i

would these fit my 1992 EG4 JDM Honda civic front speakers? What size would I be looking for?

And for the back 4 speakers, are there any wires that i can plug them to or do I have to run the wires to the back/ thanks!

infinitys have nice sq, especially these you can rotate the angle of the tweeter to angle it towards you. i would just replace the 2 speakers up front, add 2 6x9s in the back and put an amp to all 4 of them, then for the woofer, get a 10" with an amp for that also

dont buy sony for car stereo, youll just be disappointed. infinities are nice, but sometimes over priced, ive found that mbquart actually sound very nice and they have outlasted my infinities.

# 1 question is how much money are you willing to spend?

2nd question is what are you really looking for? SPL, SQ, cheap/decent, good, amazing? I just said this in another thread, research research research followed by listen listen listen. First you have to know what you want exactly out of your setup and it's good to have reference points to compare against to ask questions. Your post is vague------kind of like saying: guys I want my civic to be more exciting to drive, what should I do? Well a huge turbo setup would certainly be exciting, but simply adding a roll bar or some nice tires could make it more exciting too. Thus the question, what do you really want?

Size isn't always akin to more power(I'm guesing you mean spl). Speaker build, power handling, enclosure, sound deadening, etc. are all factors.
