Never Thought I Would Be a Member!

i currently drive an 01 7.3 powerstroke excursion. its rockin 550 hp and 900 lbs of tq. before that i was a tuner kid. had my 03 eclipse and loved it. just got tired of it. Never liked civics much until the past few months. NOW this is where my civic experience begins. I found an 91 hatch civic. which is nice...to me lol. it has a b16 out of another 91 civic (the motor i want, or what i think i want) 5spd, full exhaust (doesnt say what kind...hmmm), rims (nothin special but not bad, skunk2 cam gears, gsr cams, obd1 type r head, pwo ecu, needs battery and grounds (grounds? maybe im not familiar with this, ground wire maybe?) car weighs 2150 with the current owner in it. body is a little rough but nothing too bad seeing its a 20 year old car. what the add says. owner said it died on him the other day and hasn't bothered to look why it died. told him i would get it off of him for $800. couple friends say this is a sweet deal. what do you as a civic owner think??? thanks!

frist find ou why it died on him....but if it something easy to fix seems to be a good deal

800 is a good deal definitely. the motor alone will sell for more than 800. if he needs a battery and ground wire, etc.. maybe that's why it's not running lol.

also.. obd1 ITR head? get it. lol.

thats kinda what im thinking. im going to basically tear it apart looking into why it quite running. i will be the first to admit i dont know sh*t about civics but thats why i want one. my game plan is as long as it didnt over head and siege and i can get it to crank i will most likely get it off of the kid. i know i can confidently fix anything else that it could be (i.e. plugs, fuel pump, or starter)

if you guys have anything i should check to make sure its still ok let me know. i plan to take off the oil cap and look for motion. check for metal flakes in the oil, spark from the plug, and hearing the fuel pump kick in.

hahahaha welcome to the world of diesel! but when the vehicle weighs 4 tons, numbers like that are necessary to be able to even get up and go a bit! lol
