When I first joined CC... my car looked like this(the top picture is all stock(besides lowered, exhaust, headlights, shortshifter and 5in tach)::

By the way.. all pictures taken by the Sony Ericsson T610 camera phone(like the first camera phone made... soo... horrible quality)

________________________________________________

I decided to primer my car all black...

Now... this is the most recent picture.. (besides the type-r front and rear lips, and type-r style headlights)

I was talking to my parents last night saying I wanted to do a motoswap... I asked my dad and he said... "if you get your grades and and get the money." I turned to my mom and said... "you heard him, can I do that?" She answered, "if you get your grades UP" and theres a 75% possiblity I can. I really was thinking the K20A2, the RSX type-S motor. I read about it in Import Tuning. After intake and intake manifold, in a 96-00 civic, it got 222 whp(I believe.. i forget) and it ran a 12.15 in the quarter mile.

Sounds like big dreams. Have you done any reasearch as to how much that swap will run you total??? Not to mention all the custom parts that will need to be purchased from Hasport, i.e, header, mounts, axels, etc. I see that your dad said..... "if you get your grades and and get the money." Where does a teenager get 6g's from? Don't get me wrong. In no way am I trying to kill your plans but it sounds like you haven't thought this through.

exactly what i was going to say. but to do the k20 swap would be more than 6g's... something like 7 or including labor plus endless hours of tuning and whatnot.

To let you know... my mom said that she would help me pay for some of it. Which is nice and everything. Installation wouldnt be that hard... my brother helped install a B16a1(I believe its a b16a1-the jdm motor) into a 90-93 integra... and it started first try. The people installing it would be me, my brother, his friend(with the integra) and a couple others, including a friend with a 240 with a sr20 swap and a nice ass turbo(did it himself). I would earn the money... aka saving up and what not.

What is better* to install *(reliable and better to turbo)?
B-series?
K-series?
H-series?(I heard the h22 isnt good for turboing...that true?)

i say k20, if you planning on going turbo. if you just want n/a, go h22. that motor is sweet with basics.
yeah, after all those upgrades, buy yourself a digital camera.

For Trubo...if you want an H series motor, go H23...compression is all ready good for turbo. H22 would be good as well (as I do plan to turbo mine soon) but you're better off with H23 for all your turbocharging needs =)

Sorry but I've done my fair share of swapping and actually seen the complete runthrough of the hasport swap and it's not the average swap. The SR20DET is an easy swap compared to the current task at hand. as I've said before do what you want. I want to see some average joe do the swap. I know it's not technical, It's pricey and definiitly custom...........

12.1 with 200 HP in a civic...? I doubt it. Your probably talking about the red hasport hatch with the K20 turbo

Im only 16

sorry, but this is what pops up in my mind..... you are a 16 year old dude, who want's to make a K20a swap????? how about you get some experience behind the wheel first??? perhaps you are a good driver, but you don't have 5min's of experience yet.... :!: :!: :!: :!:

To let you know... I got a lot of experience. I know everybody says it, but I really believe that I do. I turn 17 on the 28th of this month.

And I believe it was just a stock k20a2 in the 96-00 civic, with an exception of an AEM intake and Intake Manifold. But Ill have to reread it later tonight. I dont know import tuners website, but my guess is:: www.importtuner.com ?

I know 6-7g's is a lot, but I would do ANYTHING(not anything, but a lot) to have a fast ass civic.

Also, what do you guys think::

I plan on getting a 99-00 civic SI front end on my car with a OEM cf hood and cf mugen lip. And also I plan on getting GSR leathers, full leathers.

Any comments on above?

if you get this swap dont run the piss out of it as soon as you get it. take some time and get a feel for it. i had a friend wreck tonite after getting this hatch not even a week ago. built b16 its fast as balls and he just wasnt ready for the way it handled. basically have fun but be careful
