My battery died so I jumped it once to get back to my house. Then I bought a new battery from interstate battery center and I swapped them. However now when I turn the key in the ignition, theres no accesory power and I definately cant start my car.

This is my first time changing a battery so all I did was hook up the two terminals to the new battery. I may have done it wrong or something.

Any ideas on whats wrong?

yes sir :D

Although there is some corrosion on my negative ring thing, i soaked in in coke for 5 min or so and put it on. It sparked a little when it came in contact with the terminal so I assume that its carrying the current as it should.

the originals. They probably need replaced in the not-too-distant future

I just went out and fooled with it and was able to figure out the problem. I took a hammer and lightly tapped the ring terminal on the cable down farther on the + battery terminal. haha, I feel kind of dumb now.

Thank you for your help

Did you check the master 60 amp fuse near the battery going into the car. If you put the positive cable on last you could have blown the fuse
