New car but i really need some way to hear my iPod!

the only problem with getting a radio is that the 97 ex has a curve where the radio goes.

your best bet is to get a new radio that has an AUX input unless you can get a good FM transmitter

That is a good site for beginners in stereos systems. You can order the stereo and they will provide an adapter kit, so that the radio will fit in, a wiring harness, so you dont have to cut nothing, and instruction manual on how to install it. The best part is if you get stuck you can call them and they will walk you through the whole process

Buying a radio would be the best. Front aux port is very useful.

If you want it clean looking try finding a rear aux input so there isnt a wire always hanging out the stereo

This is the SONY DSX-S100. it features a integrated "tune" tray so that your ipod can fit neatly and safely inside. it also has a aux port incase your device doesn't have a usb. the curve that you mentioned is really easy to fix with a dash kit, basically go to best buy and they will tell you what kit you need. then search for it online for cheep. so far i have been really impressed with it. it works really great. you sacrifice the ability to play cds, but who listens to cds anymore. its 2011.

But yea if you want stock radio still then get an FM Transmitter, my room mate has one for his phone that plugs into the cig lighter and has a flex arm that holds his phone up so you can search and all that through the songs... Looks decent...

OR go aftermarket stereo... if you install yourself, you will need a Stereo install kit (The plastic that makes the square peg fit in the round hole lol)

Also you will need a wire harness, this allows you to take your stock stereo out, unplug the harness from the back of the stereo, plug that harness into your new one and then you have the tail wires that you wire to your aftermarket stereo... Very easy, match the colors get good connectors and heat shrink, then put the stereo sleeve in your install kit... pop everything in and your done!!!!!

OH. and a BIG THING TO REMEMBER BOUT YOUR OLD STEREO!!!!! honda did this funny little thing where they ran the security through the stereo via the security harness, green connector on back of radio. so if you take out the stock radio, you no longer can use the stock keyless entry, unless you do a mod where you put in a new stereo and hide the old one somewhere. i just put in a aftermaket security system cuz i also hated the remote and i wanted a chirp when i lock/unlock as opposed to the horn. here is a linnk to the hidden radio mod.

yeah. and you can control the ipod from the face of the radio, cuz it uses USB, its pretty sweet, you can search by artist or album or random, its got a lot of features.this is how it works.

what does the keyless entry do?
because to open my car i push a button and it opens. it has shaven handles....
does that mean that i dont have to do that mod???

Uh oh. Lol. Don't take the radio out until you get some keyless entry mod or get handles. I never understood shaved handles.
