New Female Civic Driver

Hey Everyone (:
I'm new to all this. Just bought an 09 civic sedan. Had an 04 civic coupe before this but ran into a lot of problems with the car. So I never really had the chance to do anything to it, but now I'm starting fresh. Ideas, and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Again, I'm new to all this so be patient with me lol I have a couple things in mind that I'd like to do. Just not too sure about all the things I would need to do them.
My car is auto, and I'm into the "low life" look
I would really love to lower my car and stance it but I've never done it before. So what are the steps and what's needed ?

Your sex shouldn't matter. By stating it you're just looking for attention. Anyways welcome yo the site, and I suggest you go for coilovers, camber kit, and some nice wheels to get that stance you're looking for. You might have to stretch your tires and most definitely get your fenders rolled.

Wasn't going for attention, but anyway thanks (:
Opinions on brands ?
I've heard of Tein , Raceland, and KW as far as coil overs go. As for wheels I was thinking xxr's
Haven't really looked into camber kits yet

Tein is good but expensive for no real reason. A lot of low 8th gen civics run Buddy Club N1 coilovers. They are one of the coilovers with the most range and still allow a good ride and are reputable. You'll probably hear of people being low on raceland but they aren't nearly as comfortable to ride on.

So I've been doing a little more research and I'm seeing some people say camber kits aren't always necessary ?
Also, when using coil overs are new shocks and struts a must ?

Camber kits are Ness wry if u want even tire wear if not they are not critical and new struts are a good idea with springs

Welcome. Get some pictures up of the car! Which side of PA are you on? Pretty much determines East or West coat...

Can't really say I'd so go along with the whole XXR's etc, or like stretched tires, etc. But it's your ride and you'll find a lot of info here regardless.

Welcome. :rocker:

Please keep this section for introductions. If you have any questions take them to the correct section of the forum. Better yet, search around before asking. Everything you have asked has been discussed in MUCH length.

By asking in the welcome section, you don't get the answers you normally should as most of the tech orientated members that answer don't go through this section anymore.

BTW there is a sticky in the wheel and suspension section that tells you exactly why you don't need a camber kit. It's an urban car myth spread by those that don't really know much about how and why tires wear. Camber will wear your tires, but not like most people think (and continue to spread false information on the subject because others that they thought new what they were talking about told them and they believed continuing the cycle of misinformation) and if they are wearing very fast it isn't because of the camber. That thread explains why.

Hi _x12236 (wow, that really rolls off the tongue )

Welcome to the site! Lethal6 is correct. You won't get all of the answers you're looking for in this thread. You'd be better off making a new thread in the suspension section. There you'll find more knowledgeable people who are willing to help.
