Hey all, As my sig suggests, I'm JD, from the lovely black hole in Northeast Mississippi. I am completely new to Civs, and I need all the input I can get.

I found a 95 DX Coupe for 700 OBO Automatic with 170,XXX miles, and I plan on purchasing it.

I'm aware that Civics share the same lug pattern as my oh so beloved Escort GT (and LX) second and third gens of course (4x100mm) and that's about all I know.

The car has (as far as I know) a D15B7, it's an Auto, and it needs some TLC. I know there are several people who go on looks, but I want to keep it as JDM/stock LOOKING as possible.

Anyways... Any input would be appreciated, and as usual, I know the drill. USE THE SEARCH BUTTON! Rofl, Later!

Haha, yeah the SOHC is a piece of crap. I love my GT though, and as once quoted: Built Ford tough with Mazda stuff! This will be my first Civic, and I absolutely HATE that its gonna be an automatic, but I found a Manual Trans here in my neck of the woods for 300 plus 20 for a clutch and all that. I don't know if that's a good deal or not.

Any tips or anything I could get from the shadetrees? I plan on being 20% Show, 80% Go, since I'm not much into bling factor.

Also, is there a section on which heads mate to which blocks and what kind of stuff can be done to make it just a little bit quicker besides the obvious power adders such as Turbo's and the like.

i didnt know people actually modded escorts lulz...

on the subject of which heads go to which blocks, this subject has been covered billions of times. search and u will find the answers. 1.6 heads on 1.8 blocks and b series heads on h series blocks. also if u want to stick with the d u can swap a vtec head on there...

anywho, just search and most people will be gald to answer ur questions..

Awesome! And yes, people actually mod the hell outta Scorts The 323 GTR is AWD and has a factory Turbo setup VJ11 I believe. Pretty quick little buggers. Camry and Kia parts interchange with the Mazda 1.8L, Of course you can find just about anything for my engine off of a miata, Protege, or anything of the likes. My buddy has a 320BHP 94 Escort GT. It's intense...
