New here first time Honda owner

Hey folks I just bought a 91 civic sedan dx . It runs and drives really good for having 290 thousand miles showing only thing that is a little funny is sometimes it is hard to find first and reverse and then sometimes it doesn't want to find neutral. Any ideas on what this could be? Oh and the back passenger door won't open any ideas?

The door is an easy fix!

Sounds like synchros r bad on ur tranny...

No the door won't open from the inside i was thinking if it were syncros that were the culprit it would grind and make an awful racket especially when downshifting while moving.

Pull the inside handle on the door. Chances r its the plastic clips that attach to the pull rods or the mechanism itself.

Either way u need to get into the guts of the door first

Would shifter bushings cause the gear finding problem?

It's the Trance man. Damn good question that boggles my mind. But i don't think so. I've been in Old-ass cars with original transmissions that still shift into gear.

Trance? I reckon you mean trans right? Oh well as long as it will get me back and forth to work for at least a little while I will be ok . Once i start my job I will try to put a few bucks back and if I find a trans I will get it lol

On my civic i just messed with the lock because it was engaged while being up, also i had that shifting problems with my Escort it was a fork in the Trans it had to be replaced.

I imagine it would be cheaper to just buy a transmission for it since they only cost about 350 lol...new problem discovered driver wiper does not work..passenger side works fine. Where should I start looking?
