So I thought that since my hood release cable was busted, I could solve the problem with getting a CF hood with pins off a local guy and not worry about the cable until summer and I'm making money again. I'd just disconnect the cable from the latch. Sounds okay...

WRONG! The cable is trashed and the latch is now totally gone! So I will be ordering a new cable and latch tomorrow at honda.

Heres the Hood, teaser pictures for now:

VIS CF Hood with Sparco Pins

My front bumper needs paint, its all chipped to hell!

The guys was really cool, I saw it on Honda-tech and he knew me because he installed my brakes this winter when honda fixed my car after my little accident on the interstate when my tire when BOOM! So I met up with him this afternoon, said I wanted it after looking it over. He asked where I lived and if I had basic tools, since he knew I was in college and in an APT building. He came over, pulled his hood, helpped me pull mine then help me install the CF hood!

I will never buy anything from VIS after my trunk, but since this is used and in good condition, what I thought was a great price, it was okay. Since I didnt give VIS any additional sales or revenue, I just helpped out a fellow autocrosser, it was justified in my mind.

I'm not either but they came on it, and I think they look good. Its kinda cool because I never expected to see hood pins on my car, but I can envison everything else. So it was interesting.

Yeah, fitment is actually great. It came right off his car and onto mine perfectly.

Yeah.........Fitment looks pretty good. CF hoods don't look that great IMO, but it's alright. How light is it compared to your stock hood?

Fitment looks good on the sides but it looks like there a little to much gap between the grill and the hood.

yeah, I just tossed the bumper back on for right now. I'm going to get it better once I get the hood latch and release cable.

its got crazy bubbling and contamination in the clear. When I waxed it it filled with wax in all the bubbles that popped, and there is all kinds of crap in the clear. They were going to warrenty it, then they dropped the dealer I bought it from as a seller so they woudnt have to warrenty it. So I got stuck with a $550 trunk that is worth like $250

I didnt weight it, but I would guess between 10-15 lbs lighter at the least. If I knew how much the stock hood weighted I would be able to make a better guess.

Nice. Color matched hood pins would be nice though.
how would you even color match them? If you painted the slidding action would take the paint off in a heart beat.
