Ok so Im sick of looking at my plain old boring interior (lt grey) so I decided its time to do something about it.

My plans are this:

Paint all plastic pieces flat black
All trim will be done in brushed aluminum
any fabric except for seats and carpet will be reupholstered with silver leather
Back seats will be upholstered in gray and black
Front seats will be replaced with Mugen 2 Style racing seats (should be here on friday)

Now my question is, if I go to say lowes or home depot, what kind of paint do i want to buy to paint this stuff and how do I keep it from rubbing off? All comments (no flaming) and suggestions are appreciated.

Once again thanks for all of your help people

Hopefully I can complete this with pics and write up a how to

I would but its all ugly from the person who owned it before me. Its turning yellow and such. I wanted to do a black and grey interior anyway

i second that.. im against most projects that start off with "what kind of spraypaint do i use to paint *insert any car part here, with the mild exception of ligth touch up work EX:auto body*?"

spray painting your interior at least what ive seen.. has been regreted just about %100 of the time.. and be carefull buying knock off seats they normally come with really shity "universal brackets".. prepare to spend the rest of your life trying to get more than one bolt each lined up.. the rest of your plan (since you asked) sounds tacky and "pimp my ride"-ish.. not something im into at all..

good luck in however you end up handling it ;)

Krylon primer and krylon fusion paint works on plastic. $2.74 a can for the primer $3.94 for the fusion at walmart. I washed the pieces, then sanded using 400 grit. Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric works on carpeting and of course, vinyl. On all pieces I let mine dry for 5 hours before i touched them and let them dry over night before i reinstalled.

Thanks for the input and yeah^^ I wouldnt mind seeing some pics here. Trust me on one thing, when it comes to painting. I have that mastered. I just wanted to see what others were using. I was gonna buy some interior paint from JCW. But I think I'll go with the krylon now

I have to finish it still. It's going on a 4 day process. I still have to do my dash. Ive been planning on doing a 'how to' for the site. I clear coated the door panels yesterday, but it made it haze like a mofo. I changed mine from navy blue to black.

i wont bullshit.. the intrerior metal (the white) came out REALY good.. the issue really isnt getting it to come out well imho.. the issue is having it last.. =)

I did my research on the site and googled other cars that were previously done. On my Integra, was the same thing, only thing is the previous owner of it had already spray painted the interior. He didn't prep it or clean it and the paint peeled off constantly and bubbled up like a mofo. (color change: tan to glossy black) So I spent extra time preping, enough even coats of primer, paint, & clear coat, gave more than enough time to dry. So hopefully it will last. I've done the bedding on my first original hatchie and it lasted up until the day it was stolen  , which was a few weeks over a year from the day we got it. I'm more worried on how the vinyl will turn out tho and how well it will withstand the heat and cold climates. :???:
Thank you =)
