Actually, The heatshields and SRI do not match. It looks better with an OEM air box. The reason I chose to use the Eg6 airbox instead of my original USDM box is because the tube diameter is larger. I have no resonator box in so it's sucking air from the bumper like a CAI. I am a firm believer in form follows function but you are entitled to your own opinion. You obviously don't know me.

i know you better then you think
imo the heat shield looks better then the ugly ass header underneath, but putting a stock airbox in to replace an aftermarket intake goes against your "form follows function" philosophy since you will see no gains from your switch, just simply a stock looking intake with writing that you cant read

First time I've ever heard anyone refer to a 98 Spec ITR header as an "ugly ass header". But like I said, you are entitled to you opinion. Last I heard cold air is better than hot air. Read my post again. The writing has nothing to do with MY choice in intake but I am sorry for not being able to impress you.

this is an opinion forum, by posting this thread you're asking for opinions, did you expect them all to be positive? need to drop a bit of ego there son.....

and yes.. that header is ugly as hell, it's a nice header... doesnt mean it doesnt look better covered up though... obviously you agree with me since you covered it up O_o

This I do understand. But you still don't know me and the reason I covered it up is because I didn't like the scratches and extensive wear on it form not having the heatshields. I actually didn't like the way the ghetto SRI looked. I could care less of what you think of my car but how do you figure you "know" me? Drop the ego? I suggest you do the same.

You do realize the color of the header is the way the header is and not because it's dirty right??? Because it's not.

actualy i beg to differl.... an intake on any sub 7th gen will produce little to no change up or down.. stock with a K&N filter, filter on a stick.. its all the same.. BUT haveing it in the stock air box (or the comptech unit will definately keep the filter cleaner longer, and probably works a little better anyway than filter on a stick...
