Hey everyone! just like to start things off by saying i am new here, i just got my civic a couple months ago and love it but i have always wondered something about it. Its a 1996 honda civic si, or so i think. It has the si badge on the back but it has a D16Y8 SOHC Vtec engine in it and when i search all i can find is "1996 Honda Civic EX" with that engine, it has a chrome top to it. Maybe it just has the SI badge on it or maybe its had an engine swap? Checked the VIN and cant find anything about it. Can anyone tell me if i actually have a SI model or if im driving a fake SI thats actually an EX..? Is there anything on the car that will tell me, i have looked at everything i can find, vin number, mfd, tire specs, coolant specs, plug gap etc..
Also was wanting to get a little more power out of it and was wondering if switching to the B class engines or putting a turbo on it would be better? Turbo kit seems cheaper than getting a B16 engine but the next thing i have to look at is km's which my car has 225xxx km's right now so would a turbo be worth it with high km's or would it be to hard on my engine?
Thanks for any help!
