These things are sooooo rare. I have a buddy that was going to pick one up and put a GSR in it. Very clean! Welcome, and keep it up!

Thanks guys...i try to keep my cars simple and clean with a goal'd theme which is to keep it looking classic with the wood grain, classic wheels and the blinds that set it off. Motor is next then paint and if any minor things to take care of.

After viewing this thread earlier today, I HAD to have one. Buying this little gem tomorrow! Not the cool body style you have, but I bet there isn't another one of these to be had with in 1000 miles of me. Couldn't be happier!

Thanks for the inspiration '90 Wagon' !

That thing is pretty dang clean! I would have gone a different direction on the paint scheme, but understand the theory behind it. Love the suitcase up top! LOL

After doing a little research last night, I see the 3rd gen's aren't easy to work with and a little more rare (harder to find parts). So i'm thinking i'll take it super custom since doing any kind of motor swap is going to require replacing everything anyway... All the way to the gas tank. Possibly even a swap from outside the Honda realm. Gotta hunt down something AWD that can tuck inside that tiny engine bay with out too much cutting/welding.

It's cool. People post other sites on here all the time. Signed up at that site yesterday with the same name too. And actually, right after my last post this morning, i did a CL search for "awd" and found this!

I'd much rather go with this body style but I have a feeling the guy will want more for it than I want to pay. It's listed with a bunch of other trashed up Honda's which is why I never saw it before today. He says he's keeping the trans and rear end out of it to try and make an awd CRX. Dumb

Make sure you get a 90-91 in my opinion and if he's keeping the trans and rear end i wouldn't get it but if you must don't pay over $500-$700 dollars and i hope the interior is all intact and clean minus the driver seat which should have rips. On civicwagon.com theres links to do DA seat swap(easiest), CRX seat swap(im in the process of doing this) and del sol seat swap almost 90% of the time both front seats got rips and cuts. I'm on that site too and if you have any questions regarding 4th gen wagons just message me i don't know anything bout 3rd gens.

Thanks man! Appreciate that. I texted him this morning so hopefully I can go check it out before lunch and see if it's worth an offer. What's it cost to replace the trans/rear end just so I know what I can expect if he won't sell it with that included?

@tokyoskies Thanks for the compliment and the GSR engine swap isn't an easy task but it can be done if he fabricates I'm taking bout RT4wd civic wagon's only. The only straight drop in motors with no issues would be DOHC ZC(need the dizzy adaptor with cam shift sensor plug) & basically any D series into a RT4WD off course that i know of at the moment.

@AlaskaB16 I don't really know cause i was never in need for replacing my tranny/rear end, prob $200-$300 each on the net not j-yard and that doesn't include install unless your going to install your self. Wagons in the NW go for 2k minimum decent condition thru 5500k great condition due to wagons aren't by passed anymore so the price goes up supply and demand KBB don't play a role in the rt4wd world. Here is an example of a decent condition RT4wd >> http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/3173068349.html good condition >> http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/3190523183.html Tell him since RT4wd wagons are rare and he's taking the trans/rear end which is the main parts price shouldn't be more than $500 in my eyes cause decent FWD wagons go for $800-$1800. Those 2 parts are very hard to come by and it's a b_*&#h trying to source them unless you already know of a junk yard in your area that got them RT4wd for parts picking. Area's that know about the RT4wd's will charge alot hope your area isn't saturated with RT4wd which would be nice cause civic wagon RT4wd's in the NW use to go for $800-$2000 and that's not for a beat up wagon.

I'm in central Alaska so finding anything worth a damn is few and far between. Nobody cares about anything around here except 4wd Toyota pick ups. That said, i've come across several things that would run in the 4k+ range anywhere in the lower 48 but got them at $800 or less. Example being a Toyota All trac 5 speed and a 94 Integra 5 speed. The cool thing we have several military bases up here so lots of guys bring their cars up here but don't bring them back when they relocate or quickly find out they need something 4wd and always look for pick ups.

Anyway, the guy selling that 90 wagon is kind of sketchy. I've never met him but i've texted him about other cars before in the past. He seems to get a hold of the cooler cars but never asks that much for them. The problem is i've never been able to get him to meet me to show me any of the cars. Maybe a scammer but the cars are never really anything of value to the average car buyer so it puzzles me. Hopefully i'll get to check it out today. I'll buy that 3rd gen if I have to, but I don't want to pay more than $250 for it. He's asking 5.

Oh, and I intend to do all the work myself. I have a build thread for my 94 civic which i'm swapping in a B16 as I type this.

Those are pretty sick! I know what the prices are like there in the NW. I grew up in Oregon. Once paid for a beat to hell and back Datsun 510 4 door coupe (not even the sweet 2 door) out of Portland for $2000 AND paid $800 to ship it to me in North Dakota. Was KA swapped. Loved that car.

EDIT: Well scratch the 90 wagon idea. Guy texted me back saying it was gone. Oh well, i'll rock this 86 for a while until i find another 4th gen some day.
