well ive been busy over the past week, and my car was on jackstands the entire time because i had trouble with the axle.
$20 shipped w00t! Got it from a guy who did an h22 swap and had it lying around
new suspension setup
end of day 1. Could not get axle nut off cause i didnt have a 36 mm so the car got parked in the street for me to try again the next day. Note stock height rear and dropped front
day 2, got the right s**t to get the axle nut off, 36mm craftsman $7 at orchard, and a big ass breaker bar
Then i couldnt get the balljoint loose.
Day 3. Got pickle forks and rented a remover at autozone. I got it off but with bad results
me proud that i got it out
messed up boot on balljoint
messed up bolt from using the balljoint remover.
Day 4. Dad called mechanic and he took all my s**t to go get a new balljoint put on.
Day 5. Mechanic came and put everything back together. I had to go to work so no time to take car off the jack, and i havent lowered the back yet. I was however frustrated and took this pic of old axle
Day 6. Conned my good friend brian (sublimewls here on the board) to come over and help me lower the back (need someone to step on rotor to get spring out)
here are the results. Rear camber fixed with 50's and 4 washers per bolt, havent checked the level to see if more washers need to be added. Stock rims up front till i get an alignment. Bank account -$108 for new balljoint and labor. Its all good though, cause if i didnt f**k up the balljoint i woulda messed up the axle cause the new one came out of a car without abs so the light woulda come on and i woulda been like WTF.
Car is very dirty because it was in the driveway for 6 days and got a shitload of leaves all over it.
yea thats right.
