new radio tripping back up fuse

I installed a new radio/nav unit (Jensen VM9424) in my '99 Civic Ex. I can't get power to the unit because the back up fuse in the under hood box (7.5A) keeps tripping. The 10A fuse under dash is fine. The head unit itself has a 15A fuse inline to the wiring harness. Any ideas where my problem might be??

thanks!

That is one fuse in the car that you can put in a larger one to match the radio. Is it popping right away or after you turn it up? If it is right away then check to make sure your wiring is not shorting out on anyhing. It should at least turn on with the 7.5 amp fuse

it pops right away; I never have a chance to power up the radio. is there a certain wire that is more likely to be my problem?

The yellow wire from radio is memory and main power. Ther red wire is accessory. If either of those are grounding out that will pop a fuse. It could also be a bad radio. Not to hurt your feelings but jensen radios are poor quality. I have seen many come bad out of the box new.
