New System=No Dome Light? Is this normal?

Yea so i got a new Alpine system and for some strange reason my dome light refuses to turn on when i open my car door. is this a normal thing. i think i read it somewhere but i cant remember for the life of me. let me know if u guys (/gals?) know nething. thanx

Did you take out a Stock Headunit?

i think (someone correct me if im wrong) but in 96-98's to retain domelights and factory security, the stock unit had to stay connected with the piggyback harness and tucked behind the dash...

but then again, it was only like that from 96-98... so honda addressed that issue eventually

A good shop would have known that and he wouldnt have had this problem..

hey thanx. idk wut i can really do about it but wutever. im not worried. i have 222k miles on my civic (not a type-o) and im looking for another 6th gen neway(with fewer miles). i like the look of it but yea. enuff of me. thanx again

green with a black stripe and green with a red stripe jumo those two together. they are in the green harness behind the stereo

you have to put a jumper wire from lt green/red to lt. green/black wires in the green plug that went to the oem radio. this will make your dome light work like normal
