im thinking of selling my old subs for my accord and get a new system for my civic... but the thing is.. what should i look at for the power of my subs? i want heavy bass.. thats my purpose... should i be looking at the wattS? or what?

well watts dont matter and they do matter......
some subs will say 1000 watts and have this little tiny magnet on the back of it.
If you want quality subs check the magnet, the thicker and bigger it is the more quality you'll most likley get out of it.
I just bought 2 10" rockford fosgate p2's for around $200 and they are great, but take your time and search a bit, hope that helps

Most subs will have the weight of the magnet posted. Get the heavy ones.
First off, get a good brand. Not best buy crap, unless you are stressed on money. Some brands that are well known will underate their subs, but sound 10 times better than the offbranded, for example, Rampage Subs, that are rated at 1000 watts rms and 2000 watt peak.
Id just get a 12" sub, with a matched 1.75" to 2" thick box, and a hefty subwoofer amp.

Getting good thump also depends on the box you have too. From what I understand, sealed will give you better SQ, but ported will give more thump.
ooo i c.... rite now im thinkin kickers.. but if thats the case... big magnet = good? is that iT?
I'm running a 10" kicker in a ported box and it's more then enough bass.
