What's up!
I'm new to the 6th gen civics, but not to Civics. I had a 2001 Civic LX for awhile before I sold it to buy a 1995 Corvette. I sold that a few months ago and have had a '98 Civic EX since. I have not done anything to it yet. I love Hondas for some reason so I plan on keeping this one for a long time.
First thing I plan to do is get pistons and rings, and a PnP. I'm going to build up the bottom end before I do bolt ons. For your info, I'm keeping this engine, I'm not going the gay route of getting a b16. Mods will come rather slowly since I am currently in grad school, and paying cash for that...
Anyway, just giving a shout out to the crowd...

I would but I haven't washed it since November. It's more filthy than a crackwhore at Jerry Springer's.

Is that possible?

But on a serious note, may I ask why you don't want to go to b16 "gay" route? I'm also new to 6th gen Civic's and I'm in the process of buying a new engine but I don't know if I want to get a b16a2 or just get another d16...

It's not that it is gay, it's just that most people I know that did that always end up broke and having no money for mods to put on it, meanwhile I end up with my horsepower than they do by modifying what I already have. On a technical note, b16's are overpriced, it's rated at 160 (correct me if I am wrong), which means it gets 140 or so at the wheels. It's also approximately 100 pounds more than the d16, which means even more horses are required to accommodate for the extra weight. That same money saved to buy a d16 can be used to get at least 80 horses on a d16. Check out www.d-series.org and www.exospeed.com to find out more info and what can be done on the d16. My last corvette put 250 or so at the wheels, 200 horses on a car like a Civic is more than enough for me. I don't race, so it's all on what you want to do! =)

I have no intention of making enemies, I just want to spread the word that the d16 engines are more than capable of doing what you want it to do. I just want to educate people a little more before they dismiss is without a second thought. 8)
