Hello. I got this car for free. It was my sister's first car, then my other sister got it, and now it's mine. It's not much to look at. 1998 Honda Civic LX SOHC 1.6L, auto, 177,xxx miles. The original sticker was still in the glove box. Still runs like a champ and gets 34mpg. The exhaust manifold is cracked too.

easy fix or replacement. I see good things for this car. If not, give it to me for free.

I don't know. I just joined this site and have been trying to do as much reading on this car before I asked any real questions.

The car isn't very powerful, but it's nimble. The "Civic Specs" link at the top is awesome.

I don't know if the broken manifold could be mended or if I needed to replace it. It looks like the cat and the manifold is one piece. FML.

you inherited a great car at a great price. i have a 97 LX. the exhaust manifold crack can be driven with many miles of "no issue" driving. if and when you choose to replace it, get the one piece replacement. there are many aftermarket brands w/ a 2 piece design.

rockauto has a great price at ~$200 for this one piece manifold/cat. fairly easy swap w/ lots of liquid wrench spray. in fact, the install is easier than they extraction of the old one. the ATP brand that i purchase has a sleeker/slimmer cat, making it simpler to fit!

good luck!
