Hey yall, i just bought a 2000 honda civic, although i joined the site last week i havent had to time to share pics of the civic i bought..I wanted some ideas of what to do with it. The car is stock but theres lots of body work to do in my opinion and also interior. I bought the car for 400 dollars from a guy around my neighborhood, he did the interior red i dont like much but i think ill change it or ill just run witht he black and red idea, not too sure on it though.. I have posted that i would do the body work first because the engine seems to be burning oil so i have to save some money for the swap, so ill work on the body amd interior. Im thinking of going with nighthawk black pearl or space gray metallic? whats is your opinion. I have had a 2000 honda civic dx hatchback before but i had to sel it, because i needed some money for school ill show some pics of that car aswell. Its great to join the site hope to hear some opinions. So far i am thinking of ordering sparco torino seats, red or black si carpet, re do the back seat to match the color of the seats i buy, mostly simple thing, the exteior iam thinking of going with si lip or something but keep it close to stock, and maybe 16 or 17 inch wheel mostly konig, not going too crazy until the swap. thanks,,,

Well, Wow. IMO you got a pretty decent car for the money. That interior is pretty scary though. I'd try to tone down the interior color a bit, it's just so bright. And stick to your plan. Get the exterior and interior cleaned up while you save money for a swap. Good luck with it all. too bad the touch screen is cracked. Id like one of those.

Yeah i think someone tried to steal it from the guy before and were not able to take it so he said they cracked it.... thats gow i feel about the interior too, its too bright, but i have never painted th interior so it will be a nice project, i have to search what kind of paint to use for interior.

yeah i have to save to buy a new engine want to go with a b16, but in due time, so anyone know what paint is best to use? i think ill just fine the parts off in the junkyard and switch them, painting is messy and i have not been great at it, so taking to get it done professionally will be expensive, i think i can switch them out easier.

Great price! It doesn't look like that much work for the price. I have seen cars in way worse condition than that for $400. You have a decent platform to start with.

My personal opinion, is to dump ALL of the red. Not just some of it. I am not a fan of red interiors or trinkets. Black or grey is the way to go in my eyes. There was a time when it was "in" to paint interior pieces odd colors, but that time has hopefully long gone, unless you are stuck in the past.

It seems like you have the cart steering in the right direction. Good luck with the redo.

It can be a fun process finding all of the right pieces to redo what someone else screwed up or changing interior colors out right. I am in the process of hunting down black bits for my '93 LX. It is a pain, but can also be a learning experience for sure.

yea not bad car at all. i got a 1998 LX in about the same condition (without the blnding interior lol) for $200 from a moron down the street (he didnt know what he had lmao). but you seem to have the right ideas. save for the swap switch out the interior if your not comfortable painting. Good luck take care of her and she'll take care of you

yeah i know the guy who sold it to me for 400 was a moron too lol, as you can see from the interior..lol.. im going to try to improve the look interior ad exterior wise, i just need some time, the paint job is pretty expensive to get it done proffesionally, like engine bay and aorund the inside of the doors, i got a couple quotes today, so it will al be worth it. tomorrow im going to check out some guys interior from rhode island he is selling his 99 civic by pieces, hopefully ill get great deal on what i need.
