So I know that im new to clubcivic, but ive been peeking in as a guest for a little while now. Anyways I have a civic I can start to mess with so I figured id try to get your feedback as I go with it and any suggestions you would like to share.

The other day I was at work and actually picked up a Honda for dirt cheap, never sat in it, never test drove it, never even heard it run, I knew the guy just drove it back n forth to work and that was good enough for me, I KNOW Crazy right??!?...

Well that's what my wife thought until I told her I only gave $100 for it.

Anyways I snapped a few pictures as I was leaving the house and I know they are s**t iphone pics sorry

Body is rough, Its got the dreaded Honda rot, and will need new hood and misc parts.

Inside was nasty, took two trashbags and still haven't got to sweep it yet.

Any comments / suggestions are appreciated I will tell more update as I continue to buy parts and what not..

thanx,
Brandon.

Ok I got questions,

This civic on interstate I can run 70 - 80 for about 25 miles and then it shuts off and I have to sit beside the road for about 20 minutes and then itll start up and drive 25 more,

I checked the codes on it today and it reads the following codes:

9 - CYP – cylinder sensor
15 - Ignition output signal
41 - Primary oxygen sensor heater

Ive been doing a little research, and its telling me that more or less to change the distributor,

which I was going to go ahead and change distributor and rotor... cap and what not and pick up a new coil,

but is there anything else that it may be im still changing the dizzy regardless...

any help would be helpful ;)

All of these codes (aside from O2) are referring to your dizzy being bad. I would replace dizzy, plugs and plug wires (gap the plugs to spec), make sure your timing is TDC on both dizzy and cam, replace the O2, and you should be okay if that's all you're getting codes from. A basic tune up is a must, as this car sounds like it was neglected a bit. For $100 that's a hell of a steal haha.
