Hey guys,
Names Richard and just recently registered to the site since me and the wifey just bought a civic. We bought it for a daily since gas prices are increasing; at least in our area (VA) so with our cars taking $50+ worth of gas, we thought it'd be beneficial to buy a beater. Luckily, I found the civic for a pretty good price. It's a 00 civic 4 door 5-speed. It's the tan (I believe Honda calls it champagne or something?) the outside still has original paint and clear coat. There's no sign of rust or fading. The inside has all original interior. The only thing it needed was a new radio (it came with the factory radio, but didn't have the code for it) It came with the following:
Yellow fogs
Black-housed headlights
Mesh Grille
SI Front lip
Ground Control Coilovers w/ KYB shocks
All red taillights
Viper alarm w/ remote start
Megan Racing Header
Greddy Exhaust (Removed because it sounded ricey as anything)
We got it for a really good deal. Granted, there are some dings and chips and etc but it's a 13 year old car. I wanted to register on this site in hopes of getting some good information as how to maintain it other than the typical oil changes, checking fluids, etc. I'm not really knowledgeable in the D/B series. I'm mostly into the K/J series since my other vehicle is an 07 accord. I hope that I can somehow help people on the forum as I'm sure I will get some help as well. So I'm looking forward to asking questions and hoping I get some very positive feedback. Thanks guys!
I don't really have a lot of plans for the car as of right now. At least, i don't think it's a lot but others might. Since I'll be making deployment money, I have a few parts that are either: already home, on the way, or will be on the way.
and off-topic, here's a pic of my accord. I know it's not a "tunable" platform, but i still love the car. turns heads everywhere it goes. Hopefully no bashing will occur. lol
Edit: 28 Jan 13
So I came back from deployment around late december ish and was able to slap together the parts laying around the house on the daily. needless to say, it looks a lot better.
The day I got it:
And after a period of time, it now looks like this
