I'm a hardcore offroader but I recently bought a 99 civic sedan 5 speed and I already got the itch to tune this thing up. I currently have a 2010 crew cab silverado, a Jeep Cherokee rock Crawler and now my civic. I've gone to a couple "nationwide" car meets with my brother and I now have a new hobby.

My current plan for this car is head and tail lights, get more air moving and do wheels and tires. Question: I'm thinking I want to run 17's w 40 series tires and do a lip kit, but myi brother says to do 16's and lower it

Welcome to the site! My personal preference on those style civics would be 16" wheels. 17's have always seemed a little big to me. I think a sixth gen civic on 16's, lowered with a lip kit looks nice. It's all personal preference though. Do what you like. We've got forums for every aspect of modification you could think of. Look around and see what catches your eye

For some reason my phone wouldn't. Let me type anymore, but the only reason I don't want to lower my car is this damn thing is hard enough for me to get out of in the first place. I'm used to trucks and Jeeps. Thoughts or opinions?

(I hope this site gets more traffic than the other one I joined)

:welcome: man!

And since you already asked... I had 17's on my Civic -- didn't like them at all, and with the thin tires I could feel every bump. Switched to 16's with a little beefier tires and was much happier.
