New to the Civic Scene

I will have a ton of questions that the majority of you will find stupid but I know nothing about these cars or even 4 cyl motors for that matter.

I see the youtube videos of people running there civics to the redline like its nothing. I don't plan in doing that by anymeans but does it harm the car or motor in any way to do that or can they handle that pretty well?

Redline is a happy place if you enjoy regularly replacing the engine.

It honestly depends if you intend on drag racing or auto-xing it or if you intend on swaping motors or adding heavy modfications of building the motor. Honda motors are pretty durable, but it isn't suggested if you want it to sustain it's driveablity. Then, you can expect to go through many maintenance issues in general.
