New to the Civic world. Just looking for some direction on mild mods

Ok, don't wanna make anyone mad by being the "new" guy but....just got a 95 civic Dx. It has the 1.5 SOHC motor. I suppose most of u know its a non-Vtech. Lol. I've done mild mods to a couple Chevys I've had and I'm a very mechanically inclined individual. Just wondering if the are any "secrets" or what have you that I should know. I plan on installing a CAI and exhaust. This is a daily driver so I don't want to go all out, just seeing if there are any suggestions out there. ANYTHING will help. Doesn't have to all do with performance either. Suspension, shifting, lighting, etc.

Thanks for any and all advice!

Search around. Your car is 18 years old. Everything has been done plenty of times and to be honest we get asked this question almost daily here. There are tons of how to articles on this site and others like honda-tech. Have a look around.

BTW these were built for GAS MILEAGE not power. Bolt ons like exhaust and intake are going to do next to nothing in the matter of performance. They are pretty much for sound and looks.

Your only bet for performance is going to be a swap to a bigger motor, boost, or fully building the motor you have. All of which can be expensive. Gotta pay to play.

First thing to always do is ask yourself, what do you want the car to do

Then how much money you want to spend

Then how much money you can spend

Then google and read until your eyes bleed
