Alright, well first of all im a serious novice when it comes to modifying your car. Its something that ive always wanted to do, but unfortunately I dont have alot of money. I have a 96 civic dx sedan, that has had two previous owners, but its still in damn good condition, especially the exterior. Everything on it is stock, and im looking to change everything over the years. Its an automatic so I dont know if mods are specifically for manual cars only or not, I dont have a clue so I guess that will be my first question. Secondly since I want to learn to do everything myself, or at least most of it, i need some sort of mentor or guide to teach me the things that i dont know about modding(hopefully in book form if you guys know of any books tht would teach me in great detail, but i doubt it). I already have the haynes repair manual and customizing manual for my car, so i was refering to any other books that you all know of. Or maybe you guys learned on your own or from hangin near an autoshop or sumthn, basically I wanted to know the different ways that I could learn this stuff. I know the basics, like the difference between a crankshaft and camshaft, how to change the oil or spark plugs, stuff like that, but not alot. Tomorrow I'll be adding the pictures so you can see for yourself how much work i need. So besides the two above questions that i have, i guess the only additional question would be what do i do now. Since im for sure going to transform this car, but i still have alot to learn, what should i do in the meantime, look for that book? Or a mentor? Should I try working for free at an auto shop? Should I start cleaning my car inside and out? If all of you at club civic could help me out, i'd greatly appreciate it. If you have any info that could help me out at all please post it.
