New to the import scene.

Hey im new to the import scene. Im 16(turning 17 in 3 weeks) and i have been around american muscle all my life and just now started being interested in civic hatchbacks. Looking to buy a mid 90's hatch to rebuild as my first true rebuild. I have been doing some research on engines and i would love to get some advise or tips on civics.

Are you looking for a EG or a EK? A lot of my cousins did a EG build w/ a K20 so try looking into that.

Im not really picky between the ek and eg but i kinda like the eg better. I was thinking either b20 with vtech heads or k20

Im planning on spending like 5500-6000 dollars. I plan on doing this over a course of a year since i work part time and go to school. Yes i do plan to put a turbo on it but that will be one of the last things i will do probably
