Well I just really want to over haul the whole thing. Obviously get the mechanicals before the flash. I'm not a mechanic either. But I do like cars. I'm wondering if a reman motor from napa at 2600 with a 3 year warranty is the best deal I'm gonna get. This car is gonna b n fam for a long time so that's y I'm going with reman..

Buying a low mileage jdm engine is generally a better deal all the way around. Choose a reputable seller/site.

Try calling a few local machine shops and getting quotes for the rebuild. It may be a little cheaper, but depends on if they want to bore it out with new pistons, etc. like most shops do.
