New toy for J'

just picked up a Pioneer avh-p5700dvd, not a bad unit at all, i'll have more pics once i get it in there tonight or tommorow, any idea what kind of backround displays or does it lack them?? good picture from the bench test and alot of possiblities w/ navigation and stuff, i do believe if it doesn't have a sweet display i'm gonna order the vehicle dynamics display for it, we'll see though

yea the n2 is sweet but i only paid 400 bucks for my unit so i couldn't pass it up, is that VDS pretty accurate??

it seems to be pretty damn accurate, not sure about some of the gauges because i have nothing else to judge them by

and i got mine for $500, i REALLY couldnt pass it up
but honestly it's overkill, if i was going to go buy one retail i wouldnt spend the money for all of the goodies that come with the avicn2

High's:
great sound & controllablility
ALOT of options w/ the screen as far as position and such
detach keypad
bypassable dvd viewing up front (thats what the switch is for)
Lows:
lack of display options as far as backround (but fixable w/ a lil more $$$)
fingerprinted screen after a few days (keep kleenex in the car w/ ya)
no remote from factory
hell thats all i can think of

that was my intention to get the avic-d1 BUT i got this one super cheap so i said why the hell not, saved me about $600 and looks good

thanks i thought it would look better like that so it wasn't so high on the dash once it was out, still covers the vents a lil bit but i never use them anyway i just use the defrost w/ floor

You 6th gen guys got it lucky with the climate control to the side of the screen whenever I want to turn my heat on I gotta try and reach around the screen or retract it every god damn time

yea thas one high point, i'd go crazy having to move the screen every time to change the controls, thanks for the comment too
