hey guys just bought a td04 turbo from a kid for 30 bucks he was gonna put it in his sled and he owed me some money so he sold it to me. its missing the diverter valve how hard do you think it will be to find a new one? the seals seem okay theres not really any shaft play it moves a tiny bit hardly noticeable will this be okay once theres oil running through it?? i plan on throwing it on my ls motor and running it for a lil bit tell i upgrade to a bigger setup. i figured id try this since i got a great deal on it. its from an eclipse now i just need to find everything else to go with it haha. anyone know were i can get a new diverter valve and rod that hooks up to it sorry i dont know what the individual parts are called really. could i also use like a forge diverter valve that connects to the piping instead of straight to the turbo?

i dont like play in any turbo

and for small parts like that i'd try ebay unless you want to pay out the ass for a cheap turbo

diverter valve ??.... dont you mean wastegate ???

since its connected to the turbo it would be called a internal wastegate....

You can go to a junkyard and pick up any DSM, SAAB, or VOLVO diverter valve and use that instead.

you dont need to use a diverter valve. you dont have a MAF sensor. unless you want to use one, but if you dont just get a BOV

IMO, just get a bypass/diverter valve, it's better for IWG turbos.

i heard the diverter valves are better but they dont sound as cool thats for sure haha since i have one it think im just going to go with that, i think i might have some peiced together turbo piping another turbo and wastegate for building a switchbox for some kid a skyline intercooler which idk how im giong to get that thing to fit 550cc injectors which i dont think i will use i dont need anything that big. im still trying to figure out what im going to do about my computer if i should run crome or hondata i really need some cheap stuff so far ive gotten everything for free or dirt cheap ive only spent 100 bucks so far im still waiting on the manifold seeing if i can find one that fits. still need some guages, boost controller, head studs, and a few other things. gonna use the clutch thats in there and buy anew one once that one goes out. need to find a new oil pan or tap the one i have now. some feed and return lines and i should be good. the turbo i got has a tiny bit of shaft play but i think it will be fine if not ill just try the other one haha
