Keep in mind that the the links are ideas of what i am looking for and the price range (don't get on me about the ebay ;) . I have been thinking about picking up the pipes and stuff from home depot but havn't decided, and i know about the oil lines and tubing, still lookin.

instead of buying an exhaust manifold like that, you can always get a hf manifold from ebay or the local junkyard for around $40 or $50 and get an adapter plate from one of the guys over at homemadeturbo.com for like $50 to $75. Its not much cheaper, but it saves a little and its fun to say you are running a factory exhaust manifold for your turbo. Also, I hear nothing but bad things from the ssautochrome guy on ebay, so unless you want to take your chances with him, expect to pay more. as for a blow off valve, you can get one from a dsm or turbo ford probe from the junkyard. and for an intercooler go to johnnyracecar.com... he sells nice fmic's for around $200 shipped. you also wouldnt need to bore out your throttle body or manifold, its not necessary. and for fuel injectors, you can get some dsm 450cc injectors from ebay for $80 to $100 at the most.... by doing that you should be able to save yourself around $400 to $450.

Lost of good info, gonna investigate them, looked at that guy ssautochrome 's feedback, way to many non replies to bad feedback let alone how many negative there is.

As for the bov, i was thinking of the 80-100 dollar used , i know they work but i think i like the sound of hks/greddy over most of them

I didn't see any 450cc injectors for that cheap that are new. I didn't want to grab used ones with how every many miles on them because i know they get cloged over time. If i can clean them i'll probably just do that.

Whats everyones opinon on the vafc2? i have been hearing bad things about the advanced timming it does to the motor which is ok for n/a but not for FI. Anyone using them?

ditch the vafc2 and run uberdata or crome. I can set an ecu up for you for way less than you are going to pay for the vafc, and it is fully tunable.

been doing some research on uberdata and decided to get the parts to chip my ecu so i'm ditchin the vafc2 like suggested. only thing i didn't realize till now is how much more the wide band setup is, but seems worth the money.

You would need the wideband with the safc2 any way, so it isn't a big deal.

not really...

ecucontrol.com go here and read about the rs232 to serial/usb adapter... with it you can enable datalogging to a laptop from the factory ecu. with that and a wideband you are all set to street tune the car.

or

Click Here for a link to a wideband that comes with everything you need for datalogging. all for a mere $600.

what do you mean not really....

There is NO way to tune the car without one. I don't know what the heck you are talking about.

But datalogging on the other hand can only be done through the ecu with supporting programs. You don't have to have a wideband that datalogs.

Plus you can get a wideband with datalogging for $290 shipped, screw that stupid $600 setup, haha.

www.zeitronix.com

I tune with a PLX M300 and an ostrich, I don't use datalogging what so ever. Once you tune enough cars, you can get a good street tune without it.

i mean not really because if you go to ecucontrol.com you can learn how to chip your own ecu and enable datalogging... by using uberdata or turboedit along with soldering four wires onto the stock ecu, you can get datalogging out of a stock ecu.

and i know you dont have to have a wideband that datalogs... that is what datalogging from a stock ecu is for.

yes... very true... stupid setup.... log Manifold Air Pressure (MAP or Boost), Cylinder Head Temperature or Exhaust Gas Temperature, rpm, Acceleration, and Injector Duty Cycle all at the same time so you can use their program to view fuel mapping, perform statistical analysis, overlay graphs, and playback a log on the virtual gauges... i mean what was i thinking... besides.... screw that stupid $290 shipped if you wanna go cheap just go get it dyno tunned.

As mucgh as i love the wideband you suggested, i'm not looking to tune a drag car here, i'm setting up a d block with 8-10psi MAX. all i really want to do is make sure i don't lean/rich the mixture, not tune my motor for 20 psi having to worry about cylinder head temperature or to get that extra 15 horses by pushing my motor to its limit, besides the fact that $600 (expensive but not THAT expensive) is out of most people's budget sadly, and using zeitronix is not really a bad choice from what i'm reading. I need a simple system to adjust fuel curve and monitor air/fuel mixture. Thats all (for now).

Also i am chipping and datalogging my stock ecu because for one its cheap and i have the skills, and two a backup can't hurt. Going uberdata and the zeitronix doesn't look like a bad choice for wideband but gonna look some more.

*Turbo Update*
Orderd stuff to chip ecu+datalogging
Orderd hf manifold + adaptar from homemadeturbo.com people's
ordered 450cc peak hold injectors (gonna do inline resistors for simplicity)
Recieved OBX turbo manifold (do these things even help much?)

any suggestions for a ball bearing turbo that spools at around 3,800-4,200k ?

is that ebay turbo running ok?
i decided not to go with this guys turbo ssautochome . checked 3 forums and havn't seen 1 good thing about the guy or the turbo/manifolds he sells, rather take my chances with used dsm myself.

As for that fc'd up obx manifold i sold it on ebay 30 mins after i got it, it looks like it was meant for show, the internals looks like fc'n lego peices and there is no way that crap can hold pressure, let alone how flimsy the fuel rail mount is. Stickin to stock
