whud up fellas! great forum, glad to be apart of the community. i was given an 89 civic si from my big bro, so rather than him selling it, he told me it was mine as long as i take care of it. he's getting tired of riding low and he's more into suv's now. since i wrecked my truck, i was very fortunate and proud to take him up on his offer. this is my daily driver now. he's had it since high school and it still runs like a champ! interior is a bit rough, but that's normal for a car that's 2 decades old.
just wondering if it's possible to install a stock tape cassette head unit from a del sol. not sure exactly what year, 93' maybe 94'. a friend of mine gave it to my brother when he installed a new unit back in the day. i figure, who'd want to steal an outdated oem head unit? not only that, it gives it a stock look and i'm very content with the tape cassette adapter that i can hook up to an ipod. currently have a detachable face alpine unit that's about as old as the car. it's so loose that every time i hit a bump, it cuts off...very annoying. i keep hearing about a code that you enter after installing a honda oem unit for anti-theft reasons, but is that code specific to your make, year and model of your car or is it specific to the oem head unit you're installing? can i get these codes for free? this old school newb needs help open to any advice...
