whud up fellas! great forum, glad to be apart of the community. i was given an 89 civic si from my big bro, so rather than him selling it, he told me it was mine as long as i take care of it. he's getting tired of riding low and he's more into suv's now. since i wrecked my truck, i was very fortunate and proud to take him up on his offer. this is my daily driver now. he's had it since high school and it still runs like a champ! interior is a bit rough, but that's normal for a car that's 2 decades old.

just wondering if it's possible to install a stock tape cassette head unit from a del sol. not sure exactly what year, 93' maybe 94'. a friend of mine gave it to my brother when he installed a new unit back in the day. i figure, who'd want to steal an outdated oem head unit? not only that, it gives it a stock look and i'm very content with the tape cassette adapter that i can hook up to an ipod. currently have a detachable face alpine unit that's about as old as the car. it's so loose that every time i hit a bump, it cuts off...very annoying. i keep hearing about a code that you enter after installing a honda oem unit for anti-theft reasons, but is that code specific to your make, year and model of your car or is it specific to the oem head unit you're installing? can i get these codes for free? this old school newb needs help :P open to any advice...

lol you used cassette and ipod in the same sentance.... and the codes are specific to the head unit, maybe you'll luck out and not have to enter a code, the plugs should be the same as far as i know, they used the same ones from 86-98 so it should plug right in, if anything check the screws on the side of the radio see if they are loose or missing, the deck is an iso din so you have about 4 screws holding onto the radio...
