Hey my girlfriend has a 98 1.4 civic and recently in the cold weather she's had her head wrecked, she was driving home when the green key light appeared on the dash, when that happened the speedo shot up to fill the clock, but the rev counter was normal, she was able to get the car home but when she tried to start her up again at home again she blew a fuse in the car and it wouldn't start, we got a fella around and he put in a new distributer and changed a fuse, the car went for about 10 min's the next day and then the same thing happened again, green light on and speedo filled the clock, so we got the fella back again he put in a new fuse, started her, turned her off and tried to start her again and the nothing... she'd blown the fuse again, so another fuse later she started, took her to the fella's garage, he thought it was the alternator so we bought a new alternator and fitted it, she was stopped and started twice this time and the 3rd time ... guess what ... green light and filled clock, a fella came last night and changed the fuse from a 7.5watt to a 10watt and she's going alright today, with the new 10watt fuse she stopped and started the car about 20 times just to see if the fuse blew but it didn't, so she seam's to be going alright for now, anybody out there ever come across this problem before or something similar ??? Love a bit of feedback from you guy's !! If you's don't know then no 1 will !! Chat soon
