A circular scratch can be seen at all angles. A linear can only be seen at 90 degrees. You should wash, wax, dry, and buff the way air flows over your car - nose to tail. Back and forth motions make less scratches swirls, etc. You may not have any this time, but it can happen. I just wish the people that owned my car before me took better care of it
